What we do

Noga Projects work with the idea of integrating the playfulness of natural and artificial light into our everyday surroundings. Light connects us with the spaces we inhabit.

Artworks made of light.

Noga Projects work with architects, curators and city planners to develop integrated public artworks that:

  • Support the unique characteristics of a place and its already-existing qualities.

  • Change expression and appearance throughout the day and the year.

  • Interact with both natural light and existing urban light, and can be combined with added artificial light.

Poetic lighting for events.

Noga Projects work with festivals and event organizers to develop poetic and playful light atmospheres that:

  • Transform the experience of any space, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Repurpose waste materials and are mindful of the environment.

  • Minimize energy consumption.

Stage lighting design.

Noga Projects collaborate with artists in performing arts to create thoughtful stage lighting concepts that:

  • Are adapted for touring with limited availability of lighting equipment.

  • Work in site-specific settings and different types of venues.

  • Can incorporate natural light.

About Noga Projects

Noga Projects was founded as a lighting design and light art consultancy in 2018 by Sofia Charlotta Ivarsson. Sofia is a graduate of Kolding School of Design and brings her background in theatre lighting, scenography and communication design into her work.

The name ‘Noga’ originates from the Swedish word for being careful and precise about something. This concept resonates with our design philosophy, which connects a deep care for human needs with attention to detail in our built environment.
