What we do

Noga Projects integrate the playfulness of natural and artificial light into everyday environments, event venues and stage productions. Light can bring enchantment and wonder to a space; when done with intention and precision, it can do so without harming the natural world.

Artworks made of light.

Noga Projects work with architects, curators and urban planners to develop integrated public artworks that:

  • Turn the unique qualities of an everyday space into new and unexpected experiences.

  • Change appearance throughout the day and the year, in direct response to natural conditions.

  • Are activated by natural light and existing urban light; responsible artificial lighting can be added if needed.

Poetic lighting for events.

Noga Projects work with festivals and event organisers to develop poetic and playful light atmospheres that:

  • Transform the visual experience of any space, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Repurpose waste materials and are mindful of the environment.

  • Minimise energy consumption.

Stage lighting design.

Noga Projects collaborate with artists in performing arts to create thoughtful stage lighting concepts that:

  • Are adapted for touring with limited availability of lighting equipment.

  • Work in site-specific settings and different types of venues.

  • Can incorporate natural light.

About Noga Projects

Noga Projects is a lighting studio & consultancy founded by artist and lighting designer Sofia Charlotta Ivarsson. Sofia is a graduate of the Kolding School of Design and brings her background in theatre lighting, scenography, and communication design to her work.

The name ‘Noga’ originates from the Swedish word for being careful and precise about something. This concept aligns with our design philosophy, which connects a deep care for human needs with attention to detail in our built environment.
